Boyer and Coakley Join Miami Athletics Equipment Staff

"I am excited to have both Adam and Damien join the Miami University family in their new roles," said Assistant Athletic Director for Equipment Services and Special Projects Darrell Hallberg. "I am confident they will manage their respective equipment operation areas with a great deal of motivation, hard work and pride. They both join our staff after completing their undergraduate degrees at Miami University. Anytime you are able to hire Miamians who understand an embody our mission of Graduating Champions and Love and Honor, the better."
Boyer will oversee the equipment operation in Millett Hall and work directly with the men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball programs. He will share cross country/track and field responsibilities with Coakley in addition to assisting with football equipment operations. He had served as a student equipment manager with the men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams since 2013 and was placed in an interim role in March 2016. He also was a training camp intern with the Cleveland Browns during the summer of 2015. A Cincinnati native, Boyer is a 2016 Miami University graduate, earning his bachelor's degree in sports management.
Coakley will work with the swimming and diving programs as well as the area of sports medicine and the dance team. He will share cross country/track and field responsibilities with Boyer in addition to assisting with football equipment operations. Coakley served as the head student equipment manager for two years beginning in March 2014, working closely with the Yager Stadium equipment staff. He earned three Miami University Employee Service Leadership awards (2014, 2015, 2016) and captured a prestigious Senior Student Leadership Award from Miami University in 2016. A native of Lancaster, Ohio, Coakley earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology and health from Miami in 2016.
