Miami Softball Offering Three Camps in June

OXFORD, Ohio - With summer fast approaching, the Miami softball team is offering several camps available for youth players of all ages in June.
June 14 kicks off the first of three summer camps that the RedHawks are running that month. The slate begins with the Little RedHawks Camp, which is open to girls ages 8-12. Registration for that camp is $65 and the fee covers the instruction from Miami coaches along with lunch. MU holds its Futures Camp ($135) for players in grades 7-12. Finally, the RedHawks Prospect Clinics ($60-135) will wrap up the camp schedule on June 22 and again is open to players in grades 7-12.

Little RedHawks Camp (June 14th)
This camp is open to any and all girls ages 8-12. Camp fee includes instruction from Miami coaches and student-athletes as well as lunch.
The morning session will focus on developing offensive skills, while incorporating a fun game-like atmosphere. After lunch, the session will consist of fundamental defensive skills training and baserunning. The camp will conclude with campers showing off their talents in a Camp Olympics.

Futures Camp (June 15th)
This camp is open to any and all girls entering grades 7-12 as of the fall of 2016. Camp fee includes instruction by Miami coaches and student-athletes as well as a lunch.
In the morning session, athletes will receive offensive and defensive (including pitching and catching) instruction. In the afternoon session, campers will have an opportunity to showcase their skills in live game situations.

RedHawks Prospect Camp (June 22nd)
These clinics are open to any and all girls enrolled in grades 7-12.
Session 1: Pitcher and Catcher Prospect Clinic
10:00am-12:00pm
Cost: $60
In this clinic, pitchers and catchers will receive skill instruction, along with an evaluation of technique from clinicians. Pitchers and catchers will receive individualized attention during the first half of the session, and then will be brought together during the second half. Catchers must bring all catching gear (i.e. face mask, chest protector and shin guards), and pitchers must provide a catcher. If the catcher is under the age of 18, it is required that he or she bring a face mask (full gear is not required, but it is highly recommended).
Session 2: Hitting Prospect Clinic
12:30pm-2:30pm
Cost: $60
In this session, hitters will be able to showcase their offensive skills, while developing new techniques that will allow them to perform at an optimal level. Clinicians will give feedback, and provide athletes with an evaluation of technique.
Defensive Prospect Clinic
Session 3:
3:00pm-5:00pm
Cost: $60
This session will review the basic fundamentals of defense, but will focus on advanced skills needed to perform at a championship level.
