HAMILTON, Ohio--After six weeks on the road, Miami University's women's tennis team returned home to grab a 5-2 victory over the University at Buffalo Friday afternoon at the Riverside Athletic Club. The RedHawks (7-9, 2-1 MAC) used a doubles comeback and four hard-fought singles victories to hold off a tough challenge from the Bulls (10-6, 2-2 MAC).

Injuries forced a shuffling of the doubles lineups, but the modified pairs were able to fight back and earn the opening point. At No. 3 position, sophomore Nelli Ponomareva and freshman Emily Struble won 6-2, before Buffalo tied the competition with a first-flight victory. Miami would eventually pull through as the second-flight pair of senior Ana Rajkovic and sophomore Hannah Shteyn came back from a 5-2 deficit to prevail, 7-5.

After Buffalo quickly tied the match at one with a first-flight victory, Miami ran off four consecutive wins to seal the match. Struble improved to 23-8 with a 6-2, 6-0 result over Christine Haraldson. In fourth-flight, Badileanu took down Mercedes Losada Rubio, 6-3, 6-4, followed by Shteyn's 6-2, 6-4 second-flight victory over Chantal Martinez Blanco that clinched the result. Finally, Ponomareva rebounded from a tough first set to defeat Laura Holterbosch, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 position.
