OXFORD, Ohio - A stellar performance on the mound by Brad Schwartz was not enough as the Raiders downed the RedHawks, 4-0, Wednesday evening at McKie Field at Hayden Park in the Joe Nuxhall Classic title. The loss drops Miami's record back to .500 at 16-16 on the season.

Both Schwartz and Trevor Swaney, Wright State's starting pitcher, were dealing through the majority of the game. Swaney did not allow a hit until Jake Romano laced a single into right with one out in the bottom of the sixth. Schwartz's no-hit bid stayed intact longer, extending into the eighth inning. A leadoff single to left center in the top of the eighth gave Wright State their first hit of the contest.

The top of the eighth is where Wright State did all of their damage. The Raiders plated four runs in the inning, scoring on a sac fly, a fielder's choice and a double down the line in left.

Schwartz finished the evening with 7.2 innings of work to his name, allowing four runs on one hit. He also struck out four. Despite a great outing, he was stuck with the loss.

The RedHawks now shift their attention to Buffalo as they head out to meet the Bulls in a three game MAC East showdown that is set to begin Friday at 3 p.m.
