Miami Places 24th at NCAA Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Miami University Swimming and Diving team placed 24th in the NCAA Championships this weekend at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
Junior diver Pei Lin was the lone RedHawk who competed and earned 33 points for her efforts in the one- and three-meter dives.
She placed second with a score of 399.40 in the three-meter dive, just narrowly missing first place by 5.30 points. Nevada's Sharae Zheng (404.70), who won the one-meter dive Thursday night, won the three-meter event on Friday. Lin bested Florida's Kahila Warner by 12.20 points.
Lin placed third in the one-meter dive, tallying 332.20 points. She finished behind Zheng (344.95) and UCLA's Eloise Belanger (336.00).
The other Mid-American Conference team that placed was Eastern Michigan, who placed 44th with three points.
24th place is the best finish in school history for Miami's Swimming and Diving program at the NCAA Championships.
