CINCINNATI, Ohio - The RedHawks fell to Cincinnati, 7-2, Tuesday at Marge Schott Stadium. After a pitcher's duel in the first four innings, the Bearcats' offense came alive, scoring seven runs over the next three innings. The loss drops Miami's record to 6-8 while UC improves to 6-11.

Cincinnati jumped out to the game's first lead. In the bottom of the fifth, a one-run single to right and a two-run double allowed two runs to score gave the Bearcats a 3-0 lead through the first five innings of play.

Miami answered in their next chance at the plate in the top of the sixth. A one out triple by Jake Romano got the `Hawks into scoring position. Then, Steve Sada ripped a double down the left field line, scoring Romano. After a ground out, Ross Haffey brought Sada home on a single to left center, minimizing the UC lead to one at 3-2. The Bearcats regained their three-run edge in the home half of the sixth, collecting two runs on a home run to left that narrowly stayed fair. After six, UC held a 502 edge.

The Bearcats moved out to a five-run lead in the bottom of the seventh, striking twice on a single up the middle and then a double to left center. Through seven frames, UC held a 7-2 advantage.

Miami starting pitcher Gus Graham went 4.2 innings, allowing three runs on five hits. He also walked just one and struck out six, tying his career-high.

The Red & White are back in action Wednesday at Xavier. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
