RedHawks Wrap up Competition at Ohio State Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio ââ'¬" The Miami University women's swim team wrapped up competition at the Ohio State Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Allison Pierce won the 200-yard butterfly, the first collegiate win of her career (2:04.31). Sophomore Morgan Quesnel finished fourth in the event, clocking in at 2:09.42.
Senior Michele Rielly finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.83) with sophomore Rachel Baker behind her, touching the wall in third place (2:02.37).
Sophomore Gabi D'Abato placed second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:15.44. Freshman Sarah Wolanske swam a time of 17:26.45 in the event, good enough for third place. She also finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.16), .03 seconds behind Betsy Zilch, the fourth-place finisher (1:57.13).
Freshman Sarah Heaven was the only RedHawk who competed in the 200-yard breaststroke. She finished in fourth place with a time of 2:25.67.
The next stop for Miami is the Mid-American Conference Championships, which will take place from Wednesday, Feb. 24 to Saturday, Feb. 27 at Cooper Pool in Bowling Green, Ohio.
