RedHawks Race Well in Day One of Ohio State Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio ââ'¬" The Miami University women's swim team had a successful day one of competition at the Ohio State Invitational.
Freshman Allison Pierce claimed second place in the 100-yard butterfly, coming in with a time of 55.97. Sophomore Morgan Quesnel finished third in the event, touching the wall in 56.28.
Sophomore Gabi D'Abato finished in second in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:59.36. Freshman Sarah Wolanske touched the wall in third place with a time of 5:01.83. Wolanske also placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (52.59).
Freshman Sarah Heaven finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:06.24.
In the 100-yard backstroke, the RedHawks took third, fourth, and fifth place. Senior Michele Rielly placed third (56.35), sophomore Maureen Sullivan clocked in fourth (56.51) and sophomore Rachel Baker claimed fifth place (57.50).
The second and final day of competition will begin with prelims at 11 a.m. and finals at 4 p.m.
