Dec. 2, 2016 ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Miami University senior and junior synchronized skating teams closed out day one at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic on Friday evening at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
Both teams performed their short programs in the senior division. The senior team, who skated to Imelda May's `Right Amount of Wrong', captured second place with a total score of 54.50. Competing to a Miley Cyrus rendition of `Girls Just Wanna Have Fun', the junior squad posted a score of 29.56 to finish in seventh place. The Crystallettes claimed the top spot by putting up a score of 57.94. The full order of finish can be found below.
Saturday's schedule will see the senior and junior teams competing once again, this time in their respective free skate programs. The collegiate team will get their first and only chance on the ice on Sunday for their own free skate program.
