Flavin Earns MAC Men's Golfer of the Week

CLEVELAND ââ'¬" Junior Patrick Flavin picked up his first first collegiate victory of the season at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate this past week. For this performance, Flavin was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week on Thursday.
After the first day of play, Flavin had sole possession of first place at seven- under par and has already tallied nine birdies.
In the first round, Flavin shot a 68 for four-under par. Concluding his last three holes on Tuesday, Flavin tallied a 69 for three-under par in the second round. Flavin's last day brought a one- over par round of 73, but his exceptional play in the first two rounds helped him secure the win by one stroke.
Flavin ended the tournament at six- under par for a total score of 210 strokes, his best three round score of the season. Flavin helped the RedHawks take their best finish of the season at ninth place.
The RedHawks return to action Monday, Oct. 17 as they head to Dayton to participate in the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
