RedHawk Individuals Top the Podium Heading into Bridgeport Final Round

Bridgeport, W.Va. — Four golfers from the Miami University Men's Golf competed in the first two rounds of the Bridgeport Collegiate Individual today. Three RedHawks control the podium places heading into the final round tomorrow, with Michael Stagnaro in first place, Nathan Vonderhaar in second, and Bric Baird in third.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Stagnaro (69-69=138) shot an impressive three-under par in each of his respective rounds today, totaling 11 birdies through 36 holes. His two rounds also included an 18-hole long bogey-free stretch. Stagnaro will look to build on his performance today and possibly earn his first collegiate victory in the final round tomorrow.
Vonderhaar (73-67=140) shot one-over par in his first round and then ripped a silky-smooth score of five-under par (the lowest score of the day for any competitor), to end the day in solo second place. His second round featured seven birdies, six of which came on an eight-hole stretch, and an eagle on the eighteenth hole, a 514-yard par five.
Baird (71-70=141) shot one under par in his first round and two under par in his second, setting his new collegiate best score as the day progressed. Baird totaled nine birdies on the day, and a stellar eagle on the second hole, a 328-yard par 4. He heads into the final round tied for third place.
Dean Upholzer (79-78=157) shot seven over par in round one and six over par in round two. He totaled five birdies on the day and is headed into the final round tied for 23rd.
