RedHawks Host Last Dual Meet of the Season

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami University women's swimming and diving team will have its last meet of the season in the Corwin Nixon Aquatic Center as they take on Akron on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. Eight seniors will be honored for senior day, which starts at 12:45 p.m.
The RedHawks are 4-4 in dual meets, with their last meet being a 151-149 loss to Bowling Green.
In the one-meter dive, Miami finished 1-2-3, with junior Pei Lin leading the pack (321.30). Fellow juniors Jenna Karrow (267.90) and Taylor LeCount (263.47) finished in second and third, respectively. Lin also won the three-meter dive with a score of 379.88, which earned her a Cooper Pool record. For her efforts, she was named MAC Diver of the Week.
Three other RedHawks also collected first-place finishes. Junior Stephanie LeMire won the 200-yard IM (2:07.16). Fellow junior Logan Klinsky picked up the victory in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.12). Freshman Grace Van Fossen touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (57.68).
The Zips are two-time defending Mid-American Conference champions and were predicted to finish first again this season. Akron is 4-1 in dual meet action with Eastern Michigan handing them their only loss, 147-136. The Zips returned 23 letter winners from last season, including four first-team All-MAC members, Ashley Niznik, Hannah Raspopovich, Erin Seiler and Paloma Marrero-Munoz.
