Collegiate Finishes First, Junior Second at Synchro Illinois

With a score of 78.68, the RedHawk collegiate team won their ninth-straight event dating back to the 2013-14 season. Miami had a clean skate to its USA-themed program to win among the three-team field.
Miami’s junior team finished second to Chicago Jazz in the short program. Skating to the “Survivor/I Will Survive” medley from Glee, Miami had a clean skate and posted a score of 45.79 in the short program. The RedHawks finished second to Starlights in the free skate with a score of 66.29. Miami had one fall in its Disney villainess-themed free skate program. There was no combined scoring at the event.
The RedHawk senior team returns to the ice next weekend at the Mozart Cup in Salzburg, Austria. Miami’s collegiate and junior teams will be back in action at the Midwestern Championships Jan. 28-30.
