Golf
Last Week: For the first time since 1996, the Miami University golf team won the MAC Championship. The RedHawks led the tournament wire-to-wire and won by eight strokes. Patrick Flavin was named MAC Freshman of the Year, while head coach Zac Zedrick was named Kermit Blosser Coach of the Year. The will learn their NCAA Regional assignment on Monday at 10 a.m. when The Golf Channel holds the selection show. The 54-hole NCAA Regional will take place May 14-16.
Softball
Last Week: The RedHawks (31-22 overall, 13-7 MAC) completed the regular season with a 2-2 week to finish in third place in the MAC. In its final non-conference doubleheader of the season, the Miami earned a split with Northern Kentucky on Tuesday. The RedHawks took a 9-2 victory in the opener. The Norse came back to gain a 5-3 win in the nightcap. (Recap) Miami kept is late season momentum going with its fifth straight Mid-American Conference win on Saturday. The RedHawks defeated Ball State, 1-0, in a great pitcher’s duel. (Recap) Miami dropped a back-and-forth contest to Ball State on Senior Day Sunday, 7-6. (Recap) This Week: The MAC Tournament begins Wednesday at Firestone Stadium in Akron. Miami will be the third seed in the double-elimination tournament and will take on sixth seed Northern Illinois on Wednesday at 6 p.m. All games will take place at Firestone Stadium in Akron. The RedHawks’ second opponent in the tournament will be either second seed Ball State or seventh seed Akron. If Miami wins its opening game on Wednesday, its next game will be on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. If the RedHawks lose on Wednesday, they will play an elimination game on Thursday at 6 p.m. (Tournament Bracket)
Women's Tennis
This Week: Making their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Miami women’s tennis team will head to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face the 11th-seeded Michigan Wolverines in a first-round match at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 8. Also joining the RedHawks and Wolverines are Big East champion DePaul and SEC at-large qualifier Kentucky, who will face off at 10 a.m. on Friday. The winners will advance to a second-round matchup on Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. (Release)
Men’s Track & Field
Last Week: The RedHawks traveled to Lexington, Ky., for the Kentucky Relays on Saturday. Skyler Coburn posted a season best in the 400m hurdles, clocking a 52.88 to place second. That was one of three top-three finishes posted by MU as Tyler Yee claimed second in the javelin (192-4) and Adam Bodrick earned bronze in the 400m (48.89) (Recap).
This Week: Miami is idle until competing in the MAC Outdoor Championships at Ball State May 14-16.
Women’s Track & Field
Last Week: MU made a trip to Big Ten territory by taking part in the Dave Rankin Invitational at Purdue on Saturday. Amelia Strickler headlined the day by setting an outdoor PR with a toss of 54-10.25, moving into 10th in the NCAA rankings. The RedHawks also got second-place finishes out of Aaryn Gray (javelin; 128-2), Kathie Wollney (400m hurdles; 1:02.36) and Anna Lamb (5000m; 17:59.74) (Recap).

Abdoulaye Harouna has signed a national letter-of-intent with the Miami men’s basketball program, head coach John Cooper announced last Thursday. (Release)
Baseball
Last Week: The RedHawks began the week with a trip to Easter Kentucky. Miami fell in a closely-contested matchup, 8-6 (Recap). On Wednesday, the RedHawks hosted Eastern Kentucky. The result was another closs defeat as the Colonels took home the win, 6-5, in 11 innings (Recap). This past weekend, the Red & White took two of three games from Eastern Michigan for their first home conference series win of the season. The RedHawks fell in game one against EMU, 3-1 (Recap). The 'Hawks rebounded for the Saturday and Sunday games, scoring a combined 30 runs over the two games. They earned a 17-6 win on Saturday, which saw seven Miami hitters post multi-hit games (Recap). On Sunday, the RedHawks cruised to 13-5 victory behind Matt Honchel's five RBI (Recap). This Week: The RedHawks host Ohio State Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. The Red & White will then travel to Toledo to take on the Rockets in a three-game series.
