OXFORD, Ohio - The Legacy Project at Hayden Park broke ground in April of 2014 and on Thursday, Miami Athletics received an update and a facility tour to see the building's progress.
The Legacy Project at Hayden Park, expected to be completed this summer, will be located along the left-field line of McKie Field at Hayden Park and will include new locker room facilities, coaches offices and training and equipment rooms. Keying the fundraising effort was a $1 million matching gift from the family of Joseph P. Hayden (Jr. and III). More than 70 donors, including alumni, parents and friends of Miami Baseball, have contributed $3 million to the effort.
This facility, combined with the new indoor sports center, will allow the baseball team to train year-round. The official opening and ribbon-cutting is set for Friday, September 25.
