HAMILTON, Ontario—One day before the short program competition at the 2015 ISU World Championships, and the Miami University synchronized skating team got Day Three started with a mid-morning film review session before heading to the FirstOntario Centre for their first practice of the day, which was on the competition ice.
The RedHawks worked on their free skate program during the first practice, and, after lunch, headed directly to the practice arena for Thursday’s second practice. Miami fine-tuned its short program, which is set to the song, “The World is Ours,” and senior captain Ashley Mulhern talked about what that program means to the RedHawks in today’s video recap.
Miami had a brief break before heading to the Hamilton Convention Centre for the Official Draw. Much like the parade of nations for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, each team paraded in with its country’s flag for the Official Draw. Two Miami captains picked the placement for the RedHawks, who will 12th in the short program on Friday.
Mulhern and head coach Carla DeGirolamo recap the day’s events.
Excitement and anticipation grows as the team nears Friday’s short program competition. To follow along live, check out the World Championship Website, or follow the Results link. To watch the live video stream, access IceNetwork.com. There is a subscription fee to watch.
