OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University women’s swimming and diving team is back in action as they face cross-state rival Ohio University in their last regular-season meet before the Mid-American Conference Championships at 1 p.m. in the Ohio University Aquatic Center.
The RedHawks look to finish out the year at 7-2, with their only losses at the hands of Big 10 teams Purdue and Ohio State.
Last Saturday against Toledo, seven seniors--Katie Bootsma, Courtney Collett, Emma Craig, Caitlin Fujan, Annie Marquiss, Whitney Mitchell and Stephanie Pearce--were honored before the meet, which was the last home matchup of the season.
Miami was led by nine individual victories and first-place finishes in both the 400-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
Sophomores Stephanie LeMire and Pei Lin both won two individual events. LeMire won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.20) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:17.31). Lin won both the one- (312.60) and three-meter dives (300.29).
The Bobcats are 2-6 on the year in dual meets, with their last being a 155-143 loss to West Virginia on Jan. 31. Ohio also competed in the H2Okie Invitational on Nov. 20-22, where they finished sixth out of seven teams. The Bobcats are led by first-year head coach Rachel Komisarz-Baugh.
