RedHawks Compete in OSU Winter Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A portion of the Miami University men’s swimming and diving team traveled to Columbus to participate in the Ohio State Winter Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 14 in the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Sophomore Maximilian Jelen captured an individual victory in the 100-yard backstroke with his final time of 50.77.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, freshman Thomas Blackstone swam to a fourth-place finish, clocking a time of 55.66. Sophomore Steven Russo was close behind in fifth place in the same event. Senior RedHawk Michael Heavilon competed in the 100-yard butterfly and finished in sixth, touching the wall at 51.11.
The RedHawks suited up to take on swimmers from Ball State, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Harvard, Purdue, Toledo, and Wright State. The invitational continues Sunday with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. and finals to follow at 4 p.m.
