Sean Sargent Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CLEAVELAND, Ohio – Miami University sophomore diver Sean Sargent was named the Mid-American Conference Male Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his Miami career following his impressive performance in Miami’s regular-season finale against Ball State on Feb. 7 as the RedHawks defeated the Cardinals, 160-135.
Sargent turned in two top finishes in the one-meter and three-meter competitions. He won the one-meter competition with a final score of 325.27 points and accumulated a total of 347.77 points in the three-meter event to place second. Sargent’s efforts in the meet qualified him for zones in the three-meter and one-meter events.
The RedHawks are off until the MAC Championships March 5-7 in Geneva, Ohio. A portion of the swimmers will remain in Oxford to compete in the Ohio State Senior Championships (March 6-8).
