RedHawks Complete Day One of Arena Pro Series

Minneapolis, Minn. - Six swimmers from the Miami University men's swimming and diving team traveled to the Arena Pro Series swim meet to compete against some top-tier names in swimming. Day one of the three-day competition wrapped up with impressive performances across the board.
Miami was represented in the 100-yard breaststroke final by senior Evan Bader. The breaststroke specialist qualified for the event after he clocked a time of 1:05.02 in the preliminaries, beating out the closest competition by four-hundredths of a second. Bader returned later that evening to swim a final time of 1:05.06, garnering 27th place, respectively.
Day one saw solid swims from other RedHawks. Senior Davis Staley swam in the 100-yard butterfly, turning a time of 59.21. Junior Lucas Brock, junior Jack Strauss and freshman Jake Precious competed in the 200-yard freestyle preliminaries.
Miami is competing against big names in swimming like Ryan Lochte, who claimed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.66) as well as Olympic gold-medalist Michael Phelps who took third in the 100-yard butterfly (52.99).
Live Results for the meet can be found . The competition resumes tomorrow morning with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. The finals will start at 6 p.m. tomorrow evening.
The rest of the RedHawks will be traveling to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in dual-meet competition. The meet will kick off tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the McCorkle Natatorium.
