RedHawks Back in Action against Buffalo

OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University women’s swimming and diving team is back in the pool to host Buffalo in a Mid-American Conference dual meet on Friday, Jan. 16 at noon in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
The RedHawks are competing in their second meet in six days after traveling to Cincinnati and defeating them by a score of 188-111.
Sophomore Stephanie LeMire had another big day against the Bearcats, winning her second MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week award. She did so with first-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard medley relay.
Other first-place finishers included freshman Shay Spelman in the 1000-yard freestyle, junior Michele Rielly in the 200-yard backstroke and junior Aubrey Kluth in the 400-yard IM.
Buffalo is a perfect 3-0 in head-to-head meets heading into the meet against Miami, with their latest victory coming against Niagara University on Jan. 10, 147.5-88.5. The Bulls also competed in a tri-meet, where they beat both Michigan State and Army on Nov. 1. Buffalo is led by Andy Bashor, who is now in his eighth season as head coach for the Bulls.
