Miami To Take on the Buffalo Bulls

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University’s men’s swimming and diving returns to Oxford for its first home meet of 2015 against Buffalo on Friday at noon in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
The RedHawks fell to the University of Cincinnati Bearcats last week, 182-118. The men are currently 2-2 in dual meets this season. Some major point earners last week were junior Sean Neri, junior Davis Staley, and senior Joe Baumgartner.
Neri brought home a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, turning in a time of 51.93. He also finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:55.79. Neri also contributed to the first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
Baumgartner also swam a leg of the 200-yard medley relay as well as the 400-yard freestyle relay, which finished second at Cincinnati. Individually, Baumgartner earned first place in the 50-yard freestyle with his time of 20.73. In the 100-yard freestyle Baumgartner swam a time of 46.25 to finish second. Staley also had a good day with a second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.49 and a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 1:55.86.
Buffalo is coming off a win against Niagara University, 140.5-81.5, on Jan. 10. The men’s team is currently 3-2 in dual meets this season. Last season, Miami fell to the Bulls, 166-134.
