Guerrazzi (Sarasota, Fla.) and Thurman (Harrison Township, Mich.) each went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles last week, helping Miami defeat Ohio Northern, 7-0, on Wednesday, while earning the RedHawks' only points in a 5-2 loss at No. 42 South Florida Thursday. Both freshmen won their singles matches against Ohio Northern, 6-0, 6-0, and won their doubles match 8-1 as Guerrazzi partnered with Riekie Honiball in second doubles while Thurman played first doubles with Stephanie Danesis. Against USF, Guerrazzi pulled out a three-set singles win, 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, while Thurman also won a three-set match, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6. Guerrazzi played sixth singles in each match while Thurman played fifth singles.

Knapp (York, N.Y.) back-stopped Miami to a sweep of No. 15/15 Michigan State in the CCHA Quarterfinals over the weekend. He allowed just one goal all weekend, making a combined 48 saves for a .980 save percentage with a 0.50 goals-against average. On Friday, he made 27 saves to break the school's career shutout record as the RedHawks won 6-0. It was his 13th career shutout, passing classmate Cody Reichard and David Burleigh ('03), and his fifth of the season, which is a career high. Saturday, he stopped 21 shots, allowing only a power play goal in a 4-1 victory. He leads the country with a 1.43 GAA and is second nationally with a .943 save percentage, both of which would be Miami single-season records. He has not allowed an even-strength goal in his last seven starts, giving up just four goals during that span, all on the power play. He was also named Honorable Mention All-CCHA last Wednesday.
Guerrazzi and Thurman return to action in two weeks when Miami opens Mid-American Conference play at Akron, March 23. Knapp hits the ice again this weekend as the RedHawks head to Detroit for the CCHA Championship, starting Friday with a semifinal match-up against No. 14/14 Western Michigan at 4:35 p.m. at Joe Louis Arena.
