LINDSAY ABOUT THE MAC FIELD: "Two years ago we integrated with the Missouri Valley Conference, adding Southern Illinois, Missouri State and Evansville. Three years ago, we swam in the Sunbelt Conference meet where Missouri State won. Eastern won two years ago. Buffalo won last season at SIU. It's going to be a great mix-up in 2011. This is a really fast pool, so it will be interesting to see what comes out of this. It could be a very wide open meet or it could be a run-away. Missouri State's got 12 new freshmen, but Southern Illinois will be swimming 10 seniors. Then you've got the old rivalries between Eastern Michigan, Buffalo and Miami. Of course, when Buffalo won last year, that got Eastern's hackles up a little bit. And our guys from Miami want to be in there mixing it up."
LINDSAY ABOUT THE REDHAWKS: "We've had a very balanced team this year. All of the events have three swimmers apiece, with the exception of the 200 individual medley where we'll have seven or eight competitors. I'm pleased with the way our team performed this season. We didn't shave early, so we're putting all of our eggs in one basket this weekend. I thought we had great performances against Eastern Michigan and solid efforts in the fall semester, so I think we're tapering down just like we're supposed to. It's going to be a long shot for us to win. The key for us is to perform at our best and for everyone else to cut into each other's points. Then we can sneak through. We don't have the big, dominant horses in the swimming events, but we really don't have any holes either. We expect to have more than 200 parents and alums cheering on our own team. It's going to be noisy and a lot of fun."
