Listed below is a recap of last week's results as well as a look ahead at this week's games. Enjoy!
Football
Last week: Zac Dysert led the RedHawks to a wild 56-49 win over Akron Saturday at InfoCision Stadium. The senior became the first player to throw for more than 500 yards and rush for more than 100 (RECAP). Miami improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the MAC. This week: The RedHawks travel to play rival No. 23 Cincinnati Saturday at 7 p.m.
Soccer
Last week: Miami pushed its win streak to five games and remained undefeated in conference play last weekend, defeating Ohio, 1-0, Friday (RECAP) and Kent State, 4-2, Sunday (RECAP). The RedHawks improved to 10-2 overall and are 4-0 in the MAC. This week: The soccer team returns home to play Western Michigan Friday at 4 p.m. and Eastern Michigan Sunday at 1 p.m.
Field Hockey
Last week: The RedHawks went 2-1 last week, improving to 6-7 overall after wins over St. Francis, 3-2, Monday (RECAP) and St. Louis, 1-0, Sunday (RECAP). MU fell to Missouri State on the road, 1-3, Saturday (RECAP). This week: Miami hosts two conference games against Kent State and Indiana on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Saturday's game is at noon, while Sunday's is at 1 p.m.
Volleyball
Last week: Miami dropped a pair of conference games against Buffalo and Akron over the weekend. The RedHawks lost to the Bulls, 3-0, Friday (RECAP) and fell to the Zips in a close five-set match on Saturday (RECAP). This week: MU travels to play Bowling Green Thursday at 7 p.m. before returning home to play Northern Illinois Saturday at 5 p.m.
Men's & Women's Cross Country
Last week: Running against its largest field of the season (51 teams), the Miami University women's cross country team placed two runners in the top 15 en route to a third-place finish Saturday at the 40th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University (Chicago) at Montrose Beach along the shores of Lake Michigan (RECAP).
Despite missing its top two runners, the Miami University men's cross country team ran to a second-place finish Saturday at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Cedarville University at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. The RedHawks have now finished second in all three meets this year (RECAP).
Coming up: The men's and women's teams both have two weeks off before competing in the Pre-Nationals Saturday, Oct. 13 in Louisville, Ky.
Golf
Coming up: The RedHawks are idle for another week before competing in the Firestone Invitational Monday, Oct. 8 in Akron.
Tennis
This week: After a couple weeks off, the RedHawks are back in action this week at the Michigan State Invitational Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7.
Men's Basketball
Coming up: New head coach John Cooper and the Miami University men's basketball team will give fans their first opportunity to get a sneak peak of the 2012-13 squad at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 with the Third Annual BBQ & Basketball event at Millett Hall (MORE DETAILS).
