After two Golden Flash free throws, a three-pointer from Osborn followed by a jumper made it a 19-point advantage at 29-10 with 8:20 remaining.
Kent State responded with a 7-0 run to close to within 12 at 29-17. A jumper from Osborn and a three-pointer from Boyer ended the scoring drought for the Red and White. Boyer would close the half with another three-point basket as Miami went into the break in front, 38-23.

Osborn recorded eight assists to go with her 20 points. Olowinski nearly had another double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Boyer finished with 17 points. The RedHawks shot 44.8 percent (26-for-58) for the game, while holding Kent State to 35.8 percent (19-for-53) shooting.
