Although last weekend was a quite weekend in Oxford for Miami Athletics with no home events, this weekend will be buzzing on the Oxford campus with five of the RedHawks' six fall sports teams in action at home.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: Junior Jarrod Eick finished first to lead the RedHawks to a first-place finish at the Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge on Saturday morning in the RedHawks' season-opening race. Despite brutally hot conditions, the RedHawks' top five finished first, third, fourth, 10th and 11th to post a team score of 29. This is the eighth time in the last nine years Miami has captured this meet. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks return to action this weekend when they host the Miami Open at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 on Miami's Western Campus course.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Last Week: Miami placed second at the Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge on Saturday morning in the season-opening race for the RedHawks. Dayton won the meet with 19 points, while Miami tallied 46 points. Freshman Jess Hoover placed fourth in a time of 18:55.9 to lead the RedHawks. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks return to action this weekend when they host the Miami Open at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 on Miami's Western Campus course.
FOOTBALL
Last Week: Sweltering temperatures and the No. 21 Missouri Tigers halted Miami's six-game winning streak, 17-6. Erik Finklea rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while Zac Dysert completed 26 of 39 passes for 194 yards. Miami was in the 2011 season opener until late in the fourth quarter. (RECAP) This Week: Miami is idle this week. The RedHawks return to the gridiron at Minnesota on Sept. 17. The team is less than three weeks away from its home opener and season tickets are still available by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 513-529-4295 or clicking HERE.
VOLLEYBALL
Last Week: The RedHawks (5-2) went 1-2 at the Pittsburgh Invitational as senior Jenn Caylor was named to her second straight all-tournament team. Miami battled four-time defending national champion on Friday morning but fell to the Nittany Lions, 20-25, 18-25 and 21-25. (RECAP) Miami rebounded later that evening with a four-set win against New Hampshire. (RECAP) On Saturday, the RedHawks took on host Pittsburgh, falling to the Panthers in three sets. (RECAP) This Week: Miami hosts the Best Western/Sycamore Inn Invitational this weekend. The RedHawks face Florida Gulf Coast in their home opener on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Miami hosts Radford at 10 a.m. and Alabama A&M at 7:30 p.m. All three Miami home matches will be streamed live on Miami All-Access. (Subscription necessary to view the events.) Season tickets for volleyball are on sale now and are $36 for adults for all 11 home matches and $22 for youth (under 18). Single-game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth.
FIELD HOCKEY
Last Week: Traveling to New Jersey for a pair of games over the weekend, the RedHawks (1-3) picked up their first win of the season with an impressive 3-0 shutout against Rutgers on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Mueller recorded her ninth career shutout in the win. (RECAP) On Friday, the RedHawks suffered a 3-2 heartbreaker in overtime at Monmouth. Miami held a 2-0 lead at halftime off goals from Gabby Goldach and Olivia Miller. Monmouth evened things up in the second half and captured the game with a goal in the 81st minute. (RECAP) This Week: Miami returns home to host Virginia at 3 p.m. Friday and Michigan State at 1 p.m. Sunday. Sunday's game will be streamed live on Miami All-Access. WOMEN'S SOCCER
Last Week: Miami (2-2) was idle last week. This Week: The RedHawks host a tournament Friday, Sep. 9 and Sunday, Sep. 11. Participating in the tournament are East Tennessee State, Tennesse-Martin and Wright State. The RedHawks face Tennessee-Martin at 4:30 p.m. Friday and battle East Tennessee State at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Create your all-time Miami men's basketball roster and decide who will be placed on the 2011-12 season tickets by voting for Miami's "Fantastic Fourteen" and also earn a chance to win two season tickets to all 14 home games. Each player selected to the "Fantastic Fourteen" by the Red and White faithful will be showcased on one of the RedHawks' 14 home game tickets for season ticket holders.
