In conjunction with the RedHawks, www.MissyFriede.com is proud to bring you this edition of Miami Monday.
Miami gears up for Family Weekend this weekend and there are plenty of athletic events and festivities to enjoy. Saturday's football game against Bowling Green is a White Out and all Red and White faithful are asked to wear white to the game. Due to the high volume of tickets already sold for the football game, Tailgate Town--where the pregame fun begins with live music, interactive games and food--will open an hour early (at 10 a.m.). Be sure to get to Oxford this weekend for all the excitement!
Nick Harwell tallied a career-high 12 receptions, which tied for fourth on Miami's single-game list. |
FOOTBALL
Last Week: A dramatic finish fell just short as Miami (0-2) was edged by Minnesota, 29-23, on Saturday afternoon. With the final seconds ticking off the clock and needing a touchdown to tie and an extra point to win, senior wide receiver Chris Givens went up for the catch in the end zone from junior quarterback Zac Dysert, but the pass was broken up as the Golden Gophers escaped Miami's late rally. Sophomore wide receiver Nick Harwell hauled in 12 receptions for 162 yards. His 12 catches tie Eddie Tilltiz (2001 at Hawaii) for fourth on Miami's single-game reception chart, and it was his third 100-yard receiving game.
