VOLLEYBALL
Last Week: The RedHawks are off to a 4-0 start after winning the Quality Inn/ASICS Invitational hosted by Indiana State last weekend. Madison Hardy was tabbed Tournament MVP, while Cassie Farrell and Jenn Caylor were named to the All-Tournament Team. Propelled by 11 service aces, Miami opened the weekend with a decisive three-set win over Coppin State on Friday morning. (RECAP) Miami came back with a four-set win over Eastern Illinois in the nightcap with Hardy collecting 26 digs. (RECAP) Trailing by two sets to open its match against host Indiana State on Saturday, Miami rallied and won the next three sets to take down the Sycamores. (RECAP) The RedHawks clinched the tournament with a three-set win over Chicago State on Saturday afternoon. (RECAP) This Week: Miami travels to the University of Pittsburgh Invitational Sept. 9-10. The RedHawks take on four-time defending national champion Penn State at 11 a.m. Friday before battling New Hampshire at 5 p.m. later that day. The Red and White rounds out the tournament at noon on Saturday against host Pittsburgh.
FIELD HOCKEY
This Week: The defending co-regular season champion Miami RedHawks were picked second in the MAC Preseason Poll in a very close vote by the league's coaches. Kent State was picked to win the league with Ohio finishing third. All three teams received two first-place votes. (RELEASE) The RedHawks dropped a 3-0 decision at Indiana in their season opener last Friday. (RECAP) In its home opener on Sunday, Miami fell to Northwestern, 4-0. (RECAP) This Week: Miami travels to New Jersey to face Monmouth at 3 p.m. Friday and Rutgers at noon on Sunday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Last Week: Sophomore forward Katy Dolesh captured MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors last week after spearheading Miami with seven points in a pair of 4-0 wins in its opening weekend. (RELEASE) The RedHawks (2-2) were edged by Xavier, 2-1, on Friday. (RECAP) Junior Jess Kodiak scored a late goal against Eastern Kentucky to force overtime, but the Colonels captured the overtime win against the RedHawks, 2-1. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks are idle this weekend before returning home to host their own tournament Friday, Sep. 9 and Sunday, Sep. 11. Participating in the tournament are East Tennessee State, UT-Martin and Wright State.
FOOTBALL
Last Week: Senior safety Anthony Kokal and junior Zac Dysert have been selected by their teammates as co-captains. (RELEASE) This Week: The Don Treadwell Era begins this weekend when Miami opens the season at No. 21 Missouri Saturday at noon (ET). The game will be televised FoxSportsNet. Check local listings to see if it will be televised in your viewing area. Locally, fans can listen to Miami Sports Network from IMG College affiliates: WMOH-AM 1450 (Hamilton, Ohio), WFMG-FM 101.3 (Richmond, Ind.) Several former RedHawks now making a name for themselves in the professional ranks returned to Oxford this past week, Aug. 22-26, for Miami Hockey's inaugural pro camp, to help get them ready for the upcoming season, reunite with former teammates and coaches and make an impact on the current RedHawk hockey team. HawkTawk begins this week at Brickstreet Restaurant in Uptown Oxford. If you can't make it to Brickstreet to see the show live at 7 p.m. Thursday, tune in to these Miami Sports Network from IMG College affiliates: WMOH, WKBV and WONE (on a limited basis). Miami All-Access subscribers also can listen through www.MURedHawks.com Next week, the show moves to City BBQ in West Chester.
Miami All-Access powered by the Miami Bookstore is bursting at the seams as the Athletic Department has unveiled new plans for the audio and video arm of MURedHawks.com. In addition to football and hockey, which were previously shown, subscribers will now be able to watch men's and women's basketball, field hockey, soccer, volleyball, men's and women's swimming and diving, baseball and softball. Additionally, subscribers will have early access to Miami Magazine and game highlights, plus see special subscriber-only interviews and features. During the 2011-12 athletic calendar year, more than 100 live events will be aired over the internet platform. The subscription price is $9.95 per month or $79.95 per year, but new subscribers can receive a 10-percent discount through Sept. 2 by entering promo code 10MU10.
