PERRYSBURG, Ohio -- Miami won its 20th straight Mid-American Conference regular-season tennis match Friday, earning a 5-2 victory over Bowling Green at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. The RedHawks (12-5, 3-0) took the doubles point, then won four of six during singles play.

Doubles play started with a Miami win at No. 2 as Riekie Honiball and Jessica Parr continued their stellar play with an 8-4 win. The duo is now 9-2 overall this year, including 3-0 in the MAC. The Falcons (10-5, 1-2) tied the score at 1-1 with an 8-3 win at No. 3, but the RedHawks' top team came through. Ranked 78th in the latest Campbell's/ITA Rankings, Megan Martzolf and Stephanie Danesis rebounded from a loss on their last outing to post an 8-6 victory, putting Miami up 1-0.

The RedHawks quickly added to their lead. Cara Wald dropped just two games in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6, then Anastasia Dracheva followed by winning 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Miami clinched the win when Nimisha Mohan cruised to a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5.

Martzolf also triumphed in singles, taking a 7-5, 7-5 decision, but Honiball and Danesis both fell victim to make the final score 5-2.

Miami continues its road trip tomorrow with a clash against Western Michigan in a rematch of the last two MAC Championship matches. The RedHawks and Broncos have combined to win the last six regular-seaosn league titles.
