Miami Swimmers In Fourth Place at MACs

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Miami University's swimming and diving team continues to hold on to fourth place after day two of the Mid-American Conference Championships in Carbondale, Ill.
Unlike Thursday night, no RedHawks captured individual titles Friday at Southern Illinois University's pool.
Brendan Melling was Miami's top finisher, placing third in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:56.75. Three other RedHawks finished among the top 12. Ryan Neff placed seventh, Sean Minderlein was 10th and Darin Smith came in 12th.
Jason Hass finished eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.86.
The 200 freestyle saw Miami's Alex Reinhardt place 11th.
Two RedHawks scored points in the 100 breaststroke thanks to a fourth-place finish by Anderson Whipp and a 16-place finish by Jonathan Profitt.
Three Miamians finished among the top 14 placers in the 100 backstroke. Matt McKee was eighth, TOMMY JANSZEN finished 10th, and Ian Joyce came in 14th.
In relay finals, Miami placed fourth in the 800 freestyle and fifth in the 200 medley.
Buffalo leads the MAC team standings with 539 points, 114 more than second-place SIU. Eastern Michigan is in third place with 399 points, 85 ahead of fourth-place Miami. Missouri State (265), Ball State (173) and Evansville (109) round out the standings.
The MAC meet concludes Saturday night.
