In the first game against Boston University, Miami struck first with single runs in the first and second innings. In the top of the first, Kayla Ledbetter doubled to move Meghan Mawn to third base. The RedHawks blew the game open in the top of the fourth inning. Shannon Tillett and Kirstie Fehrenbach led off the frame with back-to-back singles. Jessica Simpson reached on a fielder's choice that took Fehrenbach off the base paths, but moved Tillett to third base. Two batters later, Jordan McElroy doubled to center field to score Tillett and the pinch runner, Kristy Arbour. Mawn completed Miami's scoring with a single through the left side to score McElroy.

Simpson kept the Terriers without a hit until the fourth inning. They scored on a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning and got another run closer in the sixth. BU was able to get a runner to third base in the bottom of the seventh with only one out, but Simpson forced to straight groundouts to secure the victory.

Mawn finished the game 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. McElroy was 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored. Simpson improved to 4-2 with the win, giving up three earned runs on six hits while striking out six.

However in the top of the second, SIUE was able to get three runs off of a two-run home run and a single up the middle that made it 3-0. Myers gave up only one hit after the second inning and finished the day having given up three earned runs on six hits while striking out six.
