OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University Athletics and IMG are excited to announce that The Kroger Company has once again teamed up to serve RedHawk fans in southwestern Ohio.
Expanding on the newly developed three year partnership which is branded as "The Exclusive Marketplace of the Miami RedHawks," 12 regional Kroger stores located in Oxford, Hamilton, Fairfield, Liberty Township, Middletown, Monroe, Eaton, West Chester and Cincinnati are now offering fans a great opportunity to enjoy exciting athletic competition.
"Giving back and partnering in our local communities is a priority for Kroger," said Rachael Betzler, Kroger Public Relations Manager. "Our store team at the Oxford Kroger has developed a great partnership with Miami. Together we give back to the community with programs such as "Turkeys for Touchdowns", to donate to the local food pantries."
As a unique and exclusive program with Kroger, discounted tickets to Miami's men's and women's basketball games will be available for purchase at each of the dozen stories. Women's tickets are on sale now and men's tickets go on sale on December 12 at a discount of $2 each at the Customer Service Counter within each location. Additionally, this easy money saving opportunity will be available for the 2012 Miami football season individual game ticket.
Additionally over the past three years, Kroger and the Miami Football Program have joined forces for a community based philanthropic program entitled "Turkeys for Touchdowns." Recognized within The Kroger Company as a program that aligns with the core values of the organization, this unique season long multi-media promotion has placed nearly 500 turkeys in the hands of The Oxford Community Choice Food Pantry whose reach extends to many families in need.
"We are thrilled to continue our very strong partnership with the Kroger Company and branch into new concepts that serve our entire community as well as provide fans unique opportunities to enjoy our students in competition," said Brad Bates, Miami's Director of Athletics. "Ed Begley and his staff are exceptional leaders, colleagues and even better people and they genuinely care about this community and are perpetually serving in subtle ways outside of the spotlight that are extremely meaningful and are making a difference in the world."
Since 2010 the partnership has developed a one of kind opportunity that emerged specifically in Oxford. As an extension to the prior partnership that included a visit from the weekly coaches show HawkTawk, Kroger invested in a series of radio broadcasts entitled "Charlie Coles' HawkTawk, presented by Kroger." Numerous RedHawk coaching personalities have made appearances at Oxford's Kroger since it was launched in the fall of 2010. But now, as this unique in store experience has grown to include unique tastings, free sampling and chef designed dinner specials, store manager Ed Begley is looking forward to increasing attendance and creating an event that will make your visit on specific Thursday's from 7-8 p.m. to Kroger one to remember.
So get your 'tickets,' support the 'turkeys' and hear some 'talk,' and come visit "The Exclusive Marketplace of the Miami RedHawks."
