As the 2011 calendar comes to a close, MURedHawks.com wants to take this opportunity to reminisce on some of the recent highlights.
The Athletic Communications staff recently sat down to compile a Top 10 listing of the biggest news stories for Miami Athletics. It was no easy decision, but we think we hit the mark on a great year.

Don Treadwell Introduced as New Miami Head Coach
Miami alum Don Treadwell may have been hired on Dec. 31 of last year, we have taken the liberty of listing his introduction as the No. 6 story of 2011. When Director of Athletics Dr. Brad Bates made the announcement, Treadwell was coaching Michigan State at the Outback Bowl. Two days later, Miami left for Mobile, forcing an Jan. 10 introductory press conference at the Voice of America Center.
