OXFORD, Ohio--On Saturday afternoon, the Miami University synchronized skating teams are gave family, friends and fans a sneak preview of the RedHawks' programs for the upcoming season. All three teams performed their competitive programs for the 2011-12 season.
Miami's senior team skates its short program to "Blue Suede Shoes". The senior team's free skate program is themed Gypsy set to Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in C-Sharp Minor. The collegiate team's competition program is choreographed to music by Beyonce. The RedHawk junior team's short program is themed Cha-Cha and set to "Sway" and "Let's Get Loud," and its free skate program is themed Dancing in Paris.
The exhibition was a tune-up for all three teams, who open their 2011-12 competitive seasons Dec. 3-4 at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic. The RedHawks will try to sweep gold at the national championships March 1-3 in Worchester, Mass.
