Marck, defensive lineman Na'eem Outler and linebacker Jerrell Wedge. Offensive lineman Cory Brown and defensive lineman Will Diaz did not appear in the contest.
Team Notes
- For the second straight week, Miami took the opening kickoff and marched deep into opponent territory, only to come up empty. Tuesday night, the RedHawks faced second-and-goal at the Ohio 1, but sophomore Mason Krysinski later missed a 30-yard field goal. A week ago, Miami also reached the one, but a 22-yard kick by Krysinski sailed wide.
- Miami held Ohio scoreless in the opening half, the second time it has accomplished the feat in 2011. Akron was the other team that was shutout over the first 30 minutes.
- Tuesday night marked just the fourth time this season that Miami held a lead at intermission. The RedHawks were up 7-0 at the half. The RedHawks also held an advantage against Buffalo, Akron and Western Michigan, winning two of those games.
- Miami started the second half by kicking off into the endzone. It was the first touchback on a kickoff for the RedHawks this season.
- Ohio's first two touchdown drives covered 89 and 80 yards, respectively. The RedHawks have now allowed nine touchdown drives of 80-plus yards this season.
- Miami allowed five sacks against Zac Dysert on Tuesday, the seventh time this season an opponent has reached that total. The RedHawks' last three opponents registered 19 sacks.
Individual Notes
- For the second straight game, junior quarterback Zac Dysert started on fire. He completed his first seven pass attempts for 78 yards. A week ago vs. Western Michigan, Dysert was 8-for-8 for 53 yards on the opening drive.
- Dysert gave Miami a 7-0 lead with a 2-yard rollout at the 3:04 mark of the first quarter. It was his fourth rushing touchdown of the season, tying for the team lead.
- Dysert moved into second place on the single-season passing list by adding 372 yards to this 2011 total. He finished the year with3,513 yards, trailing only Ben Roethlisberger (4,486 in 2003). He climbed three notches on Tuesday, topping Josh Betts (3,495 in 2004 and 3,178 in 2005) and Roethlisberger (3,238 in 2002).
- Nick Harwell finished the game with 14 catches for 163 yards, the ninth time in 11 appearances this season that he has reached the century receiving mark. He finished the game with 97 catches in 2011, topping Armond Robinson's school record of 94 set last year. He was already locked into the No. 2 spot on the season yardage chart, ending the night with 1,425.
- Sophomore Zac Murphy scored his first career point in the first quarter, converting his first career extra-point attempt. He took over the placement duties after Mason Krysinski missed a field-goal try on the opening drive.
- Junior Jaytee Swanson made his first career interception on Ohio's opening drive of the second half. Eight different players have made picks this season, led by Dayonne Nunley with three.
- Zac Murphy tied his career long punt with a 66-yarder in the third quarter. He had a kick of the same distance last year at Buffalo.
