Baseball Welcomes Back Alumni for Weekend Activities

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami Baseball program will welcome back a host of former players Friday and Saturday when it hosts its annual Fall Alumni Weekend. The highlight of the event will be the Alumni Game Saturday afternoon at 12 at McKie Field.
Returning players will participate in a golf outing at Indian Ridge Golf Club on Friday afternoon, then meet at the Stadium Bar and Grill later that night. Saturday's activities begin with batting practice at 10 a.m. and a postgame cookout.
Alumni slated to attend include Chad Reineke (Louisville Bats/AAA Cincinnati Reds), Keith Weiser (Tulsa Drillers (AA Colorado Rockies), David Cook (Corpus Christi Hooks/AA Houston Astros) and Tommy Nurre (Dayton Dragons /gle-A with the Cincinnati Reds. (Dayton Dragons).
One alum who won't be able to attend for a second straight year is Los Angeles pitcher John Ely. The former RedHawk was recently recalled to the majors for a second time this year and is actually scheduled to start Saturday night against the Colorado Rockies.
