OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University baseball team will be holding four prospect clinics over the next eight months, including a pair of clinics in the fall, one in December and a hitting, pitching and catching clinic in January. All four clinics are targeted towards high school baseball players who graduate in 2011, 2012 or 2013.
The two Fall Prospect Clinics will be held Saturday, Aug. 28 and Saturday, Sep. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at McKie Field at Hayden Park, home of the RedHawks baseball team. The Winter Prospect Clinic will take place Saturday, Dec. 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the Hitting, Pitching and Catching Clinic is on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 also from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with both clinics taking place at Withrow Court (directly behind Hayden Park) and the Lohnes Indoor Hitting Facility, which is attached to Hayden Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on each day of the clinic.
The clinics will be run and conducted by Miami's coaching staff, including head coach Dan Simonds, who will serve as the clinic director and just finished his fifth season at the helm of the RedHawks. Each clinic participant will have the opportunity to go through a college-style workout, including position drills, scrimmages and game situations.
Space is limited for all the prospect clinics so don't wait to sign up. A total of 64 prospects will be accepted for the two Fall Clinics while only the first 35 applicants can participate in the Winter Clinic. The first 25 prospects to register for the Hitting, Pitching and Catching Clinic will be accepted.
The cost for the Fall and Winter Prospect Clinics is $145 while the Hitting, Pitching and Catching Clinic is $110. Participants will receive a free t-shirt for attending any of the clinics. To register for a clinic, complete the application form on the brochure here and mail to Miami University Baseball Prospect Camp, 120 Withrow Court, Oxford, OH 45056, along with a check made out to Developmental Baseball School.
