Miami's Alex Reinhardt Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

Miami University freshman swimmer Alex Reinhardt (Littleton, CO) has been selected as the Mid-American Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week, it was announced Tuesday (Feb. 9).
The product of Regis Jesuit High School is the third RedHawk to earn that accolade, joining teammates Chris Gunnels (Chapel Hill, NC) and Michael Carroll (Toledo) who were honored on Oct. 27 and Jan. 19, respectively.
Reinhardt won two events as Miami defeated Ball State by a score of 140 to 97. He had a season-best time of 9:53.72 to finish first in the 1000 freestyle, then returned later in the dual meet to win the 500 freestyle (4:45.55).
Miami finished its dual meet competition with a record of 4-6-1 overall, 2-3-1 against MAC teams. The team's next action is March 4-6 at the MAC Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich.
