Miami Women's Swimmers Beat Ball State

Miami's women's swimming team got victories in 12 individual events and two relays en route to a 183.5 to 113.5 triumph over host Ball State.
The win improved the RedHawks' overall record to 9-4 and boosted their Mid-American Conference dual-meet mark to 5-2.
Freshman Maegan O'Connor (Fishers, Ind.), senior Kelsey Anagnos (St. Louis, Mo.), freshman Bekka Westrick (Fairfield), junior Miranda Kaltenborn (Memphis, Tenn.) and freshman Leah Thornton (Helena, Ala.) all were double winners in individual events.
O'Connor captured victories in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly.
Anagnos continued her winning ways as a diver, winning both the one-meter and the three-meter events.
Kaltenborn was a double winner in both of the freestyle distance events, touching first in the 500- and 1000-yard events.
Besides her victories in the 100 and 200 freestyles, Westrick also swam with the victorious 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay teams.
Likewise, Thornton won the 200 butterfly and the 200 backstroke, and was a member of the two relay squads.
Other victories were claimed by junior Megan Brunn (Mansfield) in the 100 breaststroke and senior Allison Way (Omaha, Nebr.) in the 500 freestyle.
Junior Kelsey Vehr (Cincinnati) swam the second leg on both of Miami's victorious relay squads.
