RedHawks Complete First Day at Dr. Porter Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--Miami University's synchronized skating teams completed their first day of competition at the Dr. Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich. After the short program competitions, the RedHawk senior team is in fourth place and the junior team sits in sixth place, both among nine-team fields.
Miami's senior team, which skates its short program to "Bridge Over Troubled Water," is a mere 0.62 points out of second place and trails first place by 7.54 points heading into Sunday's free skate competition. The RedHawks had clean skate in their opening performance of the competition season and received full credit for all of their elements.
The Haydenettes lead the senior field (67.02), followed by the Crystallettes (60.10), Team Unique (59.60), Miami (59.48) and California Gold (52.14)
Miami's junior team is 0.40 points from fifth place and just over five points away from third place. The junior team also had a clean skate and received credit for all but two elements.
Gold Ice leads the junior field (56.52), followed by Skyliners (50.16), Nexxice (45.96), Chicago Jazz (45.38), Evolution (40.88), Miami (40.48) and Synergy (36.44).
All three teams take the ice on Sunday with the conclusion of the Dr. Porter Classic.
