Miami Hockey Postgame Notes
-Miami continues to start games strong this season, scoring first in 10 of 12 games this year (nine straight) and scoring within the first 10 minutes of eight matchups. Tonight's game brings the RedHawks to a record of 4-3-3 when scoring first this season.
-Senior captain Carter Camper had one goal and one assist Saturday, as he continues to lead the nation in points (28), goals (11), and assists (17). Saturday marks Campers 10th multi-point game this season, doing so in both games this weekend.
-Tonight's game marked the fourth straight series with Alaska in Oxford that the teams have split. After a 4-0 win last night and falling 3-2 tonight, Miami suffered its third loss of the season in a game following a win. The RedHawks' last home sweep was Oct. 22-23 of this year vs. Northern Michigan (4-0, 9-1).
- Miami scored its fastest goal to start a period this year when junior Chris Wideman scored 14 seconds into the third period. The previous fastest goal was by Trent Vogelhuber on Oct. 23 against Northern Michigan after 18 seconds in the second period.
-Junior defenseman Chris Wideman scored quickly in the third period, marking his first goal of the 2010-2011 season. Wideman's last goal was on Feb. 13, 2010 at Bowling Green.
- Miami continues to struggle in low scoring games, with all six of its wins coming in games where it scored four or more goals. Tonight's game was their third loss with three or fewer goals.
-Tonight marks Miami's third straight perfect game on the penalty kill. The RedHawks have killed off their last 13 penalties after going 4-for-4 tonight and 5-for-5 Friday night.
