Game Notes
Miami went on a 20-3 run in the first period, taking the RedHawks from a 7-7 tie to a 27-10 lead with 6:00 remaining.
The RedHawks shot 5-of-9 (55.6 percent) from the 3-point range in the first half, which is the team's best first half 3-point percentage since Wright State (Dec. 13) when they shot 80.0 pecent.
With a score of 31-14 at the end of the first half, Miami recorded its largest halftime lead of the season. The previous high was 15 points against Evansville (Nov. 28).
The 14 points that Miami held Eastern Michigan to in the first period ties for the sixth fewest points allowed in any half in Miami history, and is the fewest allowed in any half this season.
The first missed field goal of the second half came off the hands of Eastern Michigan at 16:08. Miami went 3-for-3 during this stretch and EMU went 4-for-4. Miami's first miss was at 14:10, ending a 4-for-4 streak.
Nick Winbush's 11 points against the Eagles extended his streak of scoring 10 or more points to four games.
Kramer Soderberg tied his career rebounding high with three boards against the Eagles.
Julian Mavunga tied his career high for single-game blocks with three. The last time he reached this mark was at Xavier (Dec. 23).
Five RedHawks contributed from 3-point range today, with Nick Winbush shooting 3-for-4 and Orlando Williams going 2-for-2. Winbush's three treys mark his sixth game this season sinking three or more, and Williams' third game making two or more. The eight 3-point field goals made by Miami Saturday is the most scored by the RedHawks in any MAC contest this season and the most since the 10 treys scored at Xavier (Dec. 23).
Miami's four blocks against the Eagles marked the seventh-straight game that the RedHawks have swatted three or more shots and the sixth of seven games with four or more.
This is the second game in a row that Miami has held an opponent to 51 points which ties its season-low for points allowed, also doing so Thursday vs. Central Michgan.
The win at Millett today makes Miami 5-0 at home in conference play so far, a mark that has not been reached since the 2004-05 season. It was Miami's sixth straight win at home overall.
