Synchronized Skating Teams Celebrate Season at Annual Banquet

OXFORD, Ohio-After a thrilling campaign, in which all three teams competed internationally for the first time and which culminated with national titles for the senior and collegiate teams and a world championship berth for the senior team, Miami University's synchronized skating teams gathered with friends and family Saturday evening to celebrate their season at the annual postseason banquet.
Miami's senior team won the third national title in program history at the senior division. The RedHawks advanced to the ISU World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, placing seventh at the event.
After competing at the Winter World University Games in Harbin, China, Miami's collegiate team went on to win the program's fifth straight national title and 11th overall at the collegiate division. It is the longest string of national titles in Miami Synchronized Skating and Collegiate Skating history.
Miami's junior team competed internationally at the Prague Cup in Prague, Czech Republic, placing fifth at the event. The RedHawks went on to place fifth at the national championships in the junior division.
Thirteen RedHawk skaters received awards at the banquet. Each team had a skater named outstanding skater, most improved skater and also awarded a spirit award. The senior and collegiate teams also had awardees for rookie of the year and outstanding senior. The following is a list of the award winners:
