Jerry Columbus, OH: Although I was extremely upset with the idea of giving up 2 goals in less than 1 minute, I think Miami needs to leverage off this experience to continue to establish the university a a power in college hockey. If we can year after year be vying for a championships of this caliber, it will prove monumental to solidifying our national reputation in athletics.

joe sweeney portland maine: What an incredible night! I have never been prouder of my school, despite the heartbreak. You guys will remember the pain forever, but also the fact that you are the best Miami sports team in 200 years. Thanks from the bottom of my heart! Love and Honor guys! Thanks, Coach Blasi and the staff as well...... again, what a night.

Carol '79 (Las Vegas, NV): What a great run! I was a student when the Goggin opened, Steve Cady was head coach and Oxford was learning about hockey. The guys did a wonderful job representing the university and the alumni. And hats off to the Hockey band too! You sounded great!

Todd & Jackson Fryburger (Atlanta): My six year old son, Jackson, and I were there for the semifinal, and afterwards met many of you back at the team hotel. Each of you took time to sign autographs with my son, but moreover, to spend personal time with him. You made a HUGE impression on him, not just on what it takes to be a successful athlete, but also what it takes to be a man - with class, dignity and style. You will be back in the Frozen Four, no doubt great things to come for the program, but what is more important, Coach Blasi and the university have prepared you all to be champions in life, and that is a great thing to see. Congratulations on a great season, and all the best from Atlanta!

Cathy (Eaton, Oxford): First of all, thanks for the memories. The exhilaration, pride and continuity each of you provided to the Miami University hockey fans will last us our lifetimes. You guys are great and I am proud of each of you. Thank You.

Brian, TX: Y'all played an amazing game last night. BU just had the pressure in the right place. That 2nd goal really was ugly and shouldn't have gone in but it did. Either way, y'all held it down, espcially in a game that BU expected to be over with in the first. Great fight... and Great d, always a key player in any matchup. BU was a stacked team like the Yankees of baseball. Y'all, sure enough gave them a run for their money and made them earn every inch.

Dan (Oxford): You guys did what no one in the country thought possible three weeks ago - put yourselves in a position to win the national championship. Many questioned if you'd even make the tournament and you just about won the whole thing. Nothing, not even a bad bounce against perfect defense, can take that away from you. Gregg Bachmann (Worthington, Ohio): Next to the 1980 USA v. USSR Olympic game, that was the best hockey game I have ever seen. Containing BU like that was nothing short of a brilliant coaching job. The players' dedication to their teammates and school is unique in today's self-focused world. All of us should watch more Redhawks hockey! Thank you Coach Blasi for creating something truly exceptional.

Rachel (Oxford): You guys let the hockey world know Miami hockey can take any team, anywhere. Unbelievable, great, great year.

Dan in Wilmington, NC: Outstanding effort, boys, all the way through the tournament. You controlled the neutral zone all night long. The shot that got through Cody's armpit for their second goal doesn't get through 99% of the time. He was right where he was supposed to be. Just a bad break. After totally dominating that game for 59 minutes and holding your own in OT, you are national champs to me!

Marcia, '61 (Fort Lauderdale, FL): I am so proud to be a Miami grad and of this great hockey team. Down here, I refer to Miami University as the "real" Miami.

James Cargo ' 03 (Washington, DC): That was without a doubt the greatest hockey game, and perhaps the greatest of any sport, that I have ever witnessed. The ending is still painful to think about right now, but I am proud of Miami and proud to have been there win or lose.

Jim Bodmer '60: I was there and suffered with you. Sometimes things do not work out like we would prefer, but this is the best season ever and you have nothing to be ashamed about. The seniors will leave, but they did more than last year's seniors, and they more than those before. You are just laying the foundation and whatever happens in the future, you are still a part of it. Jack O '58' Naples, FL: I watched the last three televised games along with a good friend of mine who in the past was associated with college hockey in northern MI and the Michigan State program. He said that our team is extremely good overall and a few bad bounces were the only difference in the championship game. Great job and we look forward to the next season. You put Miami on the map.

Martha (Warrenville IL): Congratulations on an outstanding season. This weekend, a national audience witnessed terrific hockey. You are great midwestern and CCHA hockey ambassadors. Dallas, Texas - via Minnesota: I was privileged to sit behind the player bench at the Minneapolis qtr finals and quickly became a Miami fan as it was clear these young men worked hard and played hockey the way it was meant to be played. While I was heartbroken at the end results, it was clearly evident what a remarkable group of guys these men were and how they all carried the load for each other. Congratulations on a truly fantastic run and restoring our faith in the true meaning of college athletics.

Theresa Shauck Cano '94 (Houston, TX): Just wanted to say how much I appreciated the game and the effort. This is a game they'll be talking about for a long time. Of course I wish it had gone the other way, but let's face it, that game was epic! Well done, Redhawks! Thank you for making your school and your fans proud, once again.

Frankie (Oxford): Coming to this university has provided me with a chance to be around the game I grew up with and have loved all my life. You all sparked a fire that I have not felt in a long time and provided me the weekend of a lifetime where I was able to reconnect with my Dad and spend the weekend with him along with many of my friends of Miami. The weekend was unforgettable and you fueled the fire that burns Red & White in support of the RedHawks; something no other sport (or team) has awoken. It was truly an honor to be a apart of it all and be there in D.C. Thanks for all the great memories and I look forward to next year. Love & Honor.

Miami Alum: I was proud to be a Miamian this weekend. I was a student in the early '70s and saw Lloyd Goggin vilified for asking us for extra fees for an ice rink that we'd never even get to use. Now, I am grateful for his foresight, and I enjoy every bit of Miami hockey news I can find. I was particularly proud of the courteous and articulate interviews I saw you give on ESPN. You represented us beautifully. Thanks, and congratulations on a terrific season.

Jon (Connecticut): He's biased, but Dan Shaughnessy of the Boston Globe called it the greatest college hockey game ever. So did BU's coach (his prayers answered). This New Englander is very proud of Miami. Can't wait until next year when I'll be the one makin' noise.

Cindy Schneider (Cleveland Hts, OH): Unfortunately, I live too far away from campus to get to your home games, but we got our friends and alums together on the east side of Cleveland to watch the Frozen Four. Great Job! We were so proud of you. You're champions in our eyes! Keep up the outstanding work for next year!

Tom (Miamisburg, OH): College ice hockey is the most exciting, pure sport in the USA. Miami hockey is unquestionably the most exciting. The speed and skill of this team was displayed nationally during these NCAA playoffs, and this team gave 120% effort during this final game. The entire hockey community is proud of that accomplishment.
