Men's Golf to Participate in Ball State Cardinal Collegiate

OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami men's golf team returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Jasper, Ind. to participate in the Ball State Cardinal Collegiate. The 54 hole tournament will feature a 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. All three rounds will have a shotgun start.
The tournament will feature several of the Great Lakes region's top teams, including Indiana from the Big Ten, Cincinnati from the BIG EAST, MAC rival Ball State, defending Horizon League champion Cleveland State, as well Evansville, Dayton, Wright State, Austin Peay, Oakland, Loyola, IUPUI, IPFW and Youngstown State.
"We are excited to get back into competition after a week off," said head coach Casey Lubahn. "Our guys have worked hard and battled each other in qualifying here at home. I am confident we will be ready to go when we get to the first tee on Saturday morning."
After a competitive qualifying tournament in practice, Nathan Sutherland, Ben Wood, Ben Bastel, Craig Voorhees and Matt Stasiak will represent Miami at this tournament. Sutherland finished in fifth place during the Pinehurst Classic March 15-17, which Bastel and Wood also participated in. Voorhies will be seeing action in his second tournament this season, having last played in the St. Mary's Invitational Sept. 29-30. Stasiak will be making his season debut this week.
