TOLEDO, Ohio - The Miami baseball team battled but Toledo earned the weekend sweep of Miami with a 7-3 win on Sunday afternoon.

Miami rallied to tie the game at three in the top of eighth inning but the Rockets scored four runs in the bottom of the frame and earned their three consecutive win.

Tyler Melling (Bellefontaine, Ohio) got out of a big jam in the first inning after the Rockets loaded the bases with one out. Melling induced the double play with ground ball to the shortstop and got out of the inning.

Toledo grabbed the lead on a one-out home run to left field by Joe Corfman in the bottom of the third inning. The Rockets added to their lead in the inning with back-to-back single followed by a sacrifice fly to center field. Miami battled back in the top of the fourth as Zak Hatfield (Fort Wayne, Ind.) singled in Tommy Nurre (Cincinnati, Ohio) from second.

After an error in the fourth inning that a run to score for Toledo, Nurre singled to left field with two-out to drive in Adam Eaton (Springfield, Ohio) from second.

Miami tied the game in the top of the eighth inning on back-to-back hits from Chris Nadeau (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Hatfield. Nadeau lead off with a double to left and then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Hatfield drove in his second run of the game on a single to center and evened the score at three.
