Miami Falls to Wright State, 6-3

DAYTON, Ohio - The Miami baseball team came up short against Wright State, 6-3, on Tuesday night at Nischwitz Stadium.

The Red and White were down, 3-1 after fourth innings but Miami rallied for two in the top of the fifth to even the score at 3-3. The Raiders beat back the RedHawk rally with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the win.

Adam Eaton (Springfield, Ohio) kept the game scoreless in the bottom of the second by throwing out Ryan Ashe at the plate from right field. Miami took the lead in the top of the fourth inning when Casey McGrew, of Wright State, was unable to handle a Tommy Nurre (Cincinnati, Ohio) drive to left field. Jordan Petraitis (Canal Fulton, Ohio) scored to make it 1-0 RedHawks. Wright State battled back in the bottom of the inning taking the lead on a two-run home run by Quentin Tate. The RedHawks battled back in the top of the fourth, scoring twice with two outs. Ryan Curl (Columbus, Ohio) got the inning going with a two-out double down the right field line.

The RedHawks will be back in action this weekend, March 20-22, as they open conference play with a three-game series in Toledo.
