ORLANDO, Fla. - Miami baseball ended its Florida trip with a dramatic 3-2 win over Army on Saturday afternoon.

The RedHawks were held scoreless over the first seven innings and trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom of the eighth. After a one-out single by Brad Gschwind (Cincinnati, Ohio), Ryan Curl (Columbus, Ohio) used a bunt single to get aboard. Gschwind and Curl then advanced on a wild pitch and Adam Eaton drove in Gschwind on a ground out to the shortstop. Jon Edgington (Cincinnati, Ohio) came up to the plate with two outs and had the play of the game. Edgington laid down a bunt that scored Curl from third to tie the game 2-2 heading into the ninth.

With bases loaded two outs, Curl stepped up for the RedHawks. The freshman singled up the middle, scoring Ryan Brenner (Kirtland, Ohio) from third and giving Miami its third win in two days.

Jordan Jankowski (McMurray, Pa.) earned the win for the RedHawks, pitching 0.2 innings in relief and striking out both batters he faced.

The RedHawks return to Ohio this week for a road matchup against Wright State on Tuesday, March 17, at 6:30 p.m. The Red and White open Mid-American Conference play next weekend with a three-game road series against Toledo.
