Miami Tennis Falls at Minnesota, 5-2

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Stephanie Danesis and Brintney Larson won their singles matches, but it was not enough as Miami dropped a 5-2 decision to Minnesota at the Baseline Tennis Center. Four of the singles matches took three sets to determine a winner.
The first two doubles matches were split with Monica Gorny and Riekie Honiball posting an 8-2 win at No. 3. But Ansastasia Dracheva and Megan Martzolf dropped an 8-4 decision at No. 2 and the Gophers took the point.
The first four singles matches all went to Minnesota, giving it the victory. Danesis put the RedHawks on the scoreboard with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3, while Larson posted a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 5.
Miami returns to action next Saturday when it hosts Xavier in its second home match of the season. The RedHawks and Musketeers will meet at 1 p.m. at the Riverside Athletic Club in Hamilton.
